Armagh District Policing Partnership
Armagh District Policing Partnership is made up of nine members of the local community and 10 Councillors nominated by Armagh City and District Council.
Members of the public who sit on Armagh DPP are known as ‘Independent Members’ as they do not represent a political party, while the Councillors are known as ‘Political Members’.

Armagh Sports Forum
Armagh Sports Forum is a voluntary group representative of the sporting landscape of Armagh City and District. The group was formed in 1999 and financially supported by Armagh City and District Council to distribute grant assistance to local voluntary sport.
Since 1999, the work of Armagh Sports Forum has diversified and Armagh Sports Forum now part employ a Sports Equity Officer who delivers programmes, training, education and major events such as the highly popular and successful Sports Awards.

Blackwater Regional Partnership
Blackwater Regional Partnership is a cross-border Committee of Council which encompasses the area covered by Armagh City and District, Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough and Monaghan County Councils. The East Border Region Committee comprises ten local authorities, Newyr and Mourne, Down and Banbridge District Council, Armagh City and District Council, Craigavon, Ards and North Down Borough Councils in Northern Ireland and Louth, Monaghan and Meath County Councils in the Republic Of Ireland and has a total population of 826,000.
The EBRC was established in 1976 to promote innovative, cross border economic development in the areas of agriculture, Industry, Commerce and tourism and to improve the living conditions and employment prospects of those living in the region.

Local Government Partnership on Traveller Issues

National Association of Councillors
The NAC is the only organisation whose agenda is to look after Councillors’ interests. The NAC legal advice, education and advice to Councillors on the facilities their Council provide, i.e. adequate insurance cover and in-house training. The NAC provide speakers/trainers for the new EU members states and are full members of the Confederation of European Councillors.

Newry/Portadown Canal Joint Development Committee
In 1982 Newry/Portadown Canal Joint Development Committee established. The development of the canal and towpath has had the involvement of Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon and Newry and Mourne Councils, as sections of the canal fall within these different Council areas.

Northern Ireland Amenity Council
The Northern Ireland Amenity Council was established to promote for public benefit, the protection preservation and improvement of the physical environment in Northern Ireland. These objectives are pursued strictly in a non-party political manner and without discrimination, either religious, political, or sexual.
To further these objectives, the Amenity Council administers the various Best Kept competitions. The Competitions have been held since 1957.

Northern Ireland Local Government Association (NILGA)
The Northern Ireland Local Government Association (NILGA) represents the collective interests of elected members in local Councils and facilitates the development of the sector.
NILGA seeks to promote, strengthen and represent the local government sector as part of the Local Government Group of Associations in the UK.
The Association is supported by all five main political parties in Northern Ireland with 25 of the 26 Local Authorities as members.

The Housing Council was established in 1971. The Housing Council is consulted by the Housing Executive and the Department for Social Development on all matters that affect housing policy in Northern Ireland. The Housing Council is made up of one representative from each of the 26 Councils in Northern Ireland.

Policing and Community Safety Partnerships (or PCSPs) are new statutory bodies which will be established under the Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 2011. The Northern Ireland Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) is a regional civilian body comprising voluntary members and a small full-time secretariat.
