The Silver Card entitles an individual free use of Armagh City and District Council Recreation and Leisure facilities for training purposes.
Armagh Sports Forum welcomes applications for Silver Cards from individuals residing in the Armagh City and District Council area who represent their sport (recognised by the Sports Council NI) at Provincial level or above.
If an individual applies for both (financial aid & facility access) the applicant will be offered a choice of either total grant aid entitlement or 75% of grant aid entitlement and a Silver Card, i.e. 25% reduction in grant when Silver Card is awarded.
In 2002, Armagh Sports Forum requested Armagh City and District Council to consider complimentary use of leisure facilities for elite sports performers in order that a high level of performance is maintained and nurtured. The decision to assist athletes to utilize Council resources at no cost has been extremely beneficial with many young performers now attaining National and International recognition at Senior Level.
