Tips for Home composting
As a natural process, successful composting is fairly easy. Here are a few top tips:
- Always place your home composting unit on bare ground. This allows worms, woodlice and other composting creatures to get in
- Use a good mix of brown materials (such as twigs and hedge clippings) and green materials (such as grass cuttings, weeds and vegetable peelings.)
- Check this Composting Waste Guide for more information
Don’t put too much of any one thing in at once. If possible, mix the green and brown material before adding.
