The Environmental Health Department carries out routine inspections of swimming pools and spa pools to check the quality of water.
We are not responsible for maintaining the quality of mains drinking water, water pipes and the supply of water to your home. This is the role of Northern Ireland Water – you can find out more about their services from the Northern Ireland Water website or by calling 084 5744 0088.
Northern Ireland Water have produced a report on drinking water quality for each local council. This report provides information on the water quality in the Armagh City and District Council area. For monitoring purposes NI Water’s supply is divided into water supply zones and the information is based on samples taken within each zone which serves no more than 100,000 people.
The report also details Capital Work Programmes affecting the Armagh Council area which relate directly to water quality during the reporting period. For more information you can read the full report by clicking here.
Drainage problems are also the responsibility of Northern Ireland Water.
If you live in a rented house and are having problems with water drainage, your landlord should fix the problem if the fault is on their property.
