Good Relations

Good RelationsThe Good Relations Plan has four main strategic themes which are based primarily on the cross cutting nature of many of the prioritised issues and their link across many of the themes:

  1. Investing in our future
  2. Creating involvement and awareness
  3. Celebrating cultural diversity
  4. Civic pride and engagement

While this Action Plan is specific to improving good relations within the Armagh City and District we are conscious that our work can play an important role in improving good relations within the wider context of Northern Ireland, particularly when people travel to areas outside the Armagh City and District to work and study. For this reason we have identified strong links to the Shared Future Document which provides the policy and strategic framework for Good Relations in Northern Ireland. The overall aim of the Shared Future Policy is to establish, over time, a shared society defined by culture of tolerance: a normal, civic society, in which all individuals are considered as equals, where differences are resolved through dialogue in the public sphere, and where all individuals are treated impartially. A society where there is equity, respect for diversity and recognition of our interdependence.
